Where are the official instructions?
Blue Marble’s Product Support page has a Rock Tumblers link. That link leads to its How to Use a Rock Tumbler page, which contains instructional videos. Both official destinations are linked in the sources below. We verified this navigation on September 5, 2026; we did not locate a downloadable PDF matched to each of the two National Geographic listings in our catalog.
If the general instructions do not match your controls or kit, use the official Contact page. It currently lists help@thinkbluemarble.com and 541-625-2443. Ask for the manual corresponding to the model and revision printed on your product. A missing manual is a reason to request the correct one, rather than borrowing operating limits from the nearest-looking machine.
Identify the machine before choosing a manual
Make a small identification record before asking for help. The following is our suggested support checklist, not an extra manufacturer requirement. It helps separate a machine identification question from a problem with the stones.
- Copy the product name and any model, item or revision number printed on the base or packaging.
- Photograph the controls and the product label so support can see the actual version.
- Keep the purchase listing or receipt available; an Amazon ASIN identifies a listing and does not replace the machine label.
- Describe what you need: missing instructions, a timer explanation, loading limits, a replacement part or troubleshooting.
- Do not send payment details or an account password. Use the manufacturer’s own contact channel for your support request.
Why a similarly named product page can be misleading
Our saved Hobby listing is B01LQCIL88. During our source check, the manufacturer’s current Hobby purchase link instead led to B086Z6ZB7R. This mismatch does not prove that either listing is incorrect; it means the current page cannot establish every accessory or operating detail for the older listing. We therefore do not carry its bundle quantities into our catalog description.
Our catalog also includes B08DL95CWL, described there as a 3 lb Professional kit. We have not matched that ASIN to an exact manufacturer manual. Blue Marble publishes more than one similarly named Professional page. Do not choose a loading weight, timer limit or speed merely because a page includes the word Professional. Use the label and manufacturer confirmation to finish the match.
What to check once the matching guide arrives
Read the document as a checklist for your first setup. Find what the capacity figure measures, which materials the guide covers, the water and abrasive instructions, the control sequence, and the cleaning and maintenance directions. Keep the document with your batch notes so you can refer to the same revision next time.
For a replacement part, record the full part description and compatible model. A similar-looking belt, lid or adapter is not confirmation of compatibility. If a required detail is absent or conflicts with your machine label, ask support to resolve that specific point before relying on it.
Use general tumbling advice for context, not missing settings
Blue Marble’s comparison guide describes a sequence of coarse grinding, smoothing, pre-polish and polish. It also explains that the early stage may need repeating and that stones should be cleaned between stages. This is useful process context; it does not supply the loading and control instructions for every machine.
After identifying your model, our grit-stages and cleaning guides can help you understand why the stages differ. Use your batch journal to record the actual settings from the correct instructions, the inspection date and what you see. A timer reaching zero is a prompt to inspect the batch, not proof that it has achieved the finish you want.
Questions at the workbench
Where can I get a replacement National Geographic rock tumbler manual?
Start at Blue Marble’s official Product Support page and select Rock Tumblers. For a document matched to your particular version, contact its support team with the model label and a photo of the controls. We have not verified a separate downloadable manual for every catalog ASIN.
Are Hobby and Professional tumbler instructions interchangeable?
Do not assume so. A shared brand or a similar kit name does not establish identical controls, capacity limits or accessories. Match your machine label and revision before applying operating instructions.
Does this page provide a universal grit amount or timer setting?
No. It is a guide to locating the correct instructions. Use the matched manufacturer directions for amounts, loading and controls, then inspect the stones before deciding to move to the next stage.
